FAQ

  • Why Tuscany?

Maria is of Italian heritage and Matteo was born and raised among gentle Tuscan hills. Plus, Italy in the summer is absolutely gorgeous. We can’t wait for you to experience its magic!

  • Is this a wedding or a party?

Maria and Matteo were married 3 years ago in an intimate ceremony at the Santa Barbara Courthouse during COVID. While there won’t be a formal ceremony, we still wanted to have a beautiful celebration and a BIG party!

  • What's the schedule?

We’ll share more details soon, but here’s a sneak peek:

    Sat July 5 Check-in / Welcome reception
Sun July 6 Beach or pool party
    Tue July 8 Big party
    Thu July 10 Bigger party
    Sat Jul 12 Checkout

Expect beach days, village visits, winery tours, and local dinners. There will also be plenty of flexibility for downtime and exploring at your own pace.

  • How do I get to there?

The estate is near Casale Marittimo. The best airports to fly into are Pisa (PSA) (1-hour drive) or Rome (FCO) (3-hour drive). Other options are Florence (FLR) (2-hour drive) or Milan Malpensa (MXP) (4.5-hour drive).

  • Will I need a car?

Yes, we strongly recommend renting a car or coordinating with another guest who is renting one. Public transport and rideshares (like Uber or Lyft) are essentially nonexistant in the Tuscan countryside.

  • What's the closest train station?

The closest train station is Cecina (Matteo’s hometown), a 20-minute car ride from the estate. You can take a train to Cecina from any of the airports and someone from your villa can pick you up. Here’s the link to the Italian train booking site.

  • Can I come for part of the week?

We kindly ask that you join us for the full experience—we think you'll be glad you did. If you cannot stay for the full duration, please reach out to M&M.

  • Can I bring a plus-one?

Due to limited capacity in the villas, plus ones are handled on a case-by-case basis. Please reach out to M&M to inquire. (But don’t worry, many of your best friends and future new best friends will be there!)

  • Can I bring kids?

We are working to make this trip as kid-friendly as possible. One villa will be specifically dedicated to guests traveling with children - with rooms featuring a sofa bed and/or cot add-on (max 2). The number of kid-friendly rooms is limited, so please reach out to M&M to confirm.

  • What other expenses should I plan for?

We’ll cover food and drinks for the welcome reception and the two major events, as well as transportation to those venues. Each villa’s kitchen will also be stocked with snacks, coffee, and some basic groceries.

You’ll need to cover additional meals and costs for optional activities (e.g., wine tours). More details about activities will be shared closer to the date.

  • Can I have a private room?

We encourage room sharing to maximize space and welcome more friends, but we understand privacy may be needed. If you’d like your own room, let us know, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request for a 50% cost increase on the one-person ticket.

  • Do the villas have Wi-Fi?

Yes, all villas have Wi-Fi, but the internet connection is not as fast as a cable network. It’s perfect for emails and short calls but may not support activities like concurrent video calls or streaming.

  • Can I choose where I stay?

We’re working to ensure everyone is comfortably placed with some of their favorite people. We promise to work our magic! If you have strong preferences about where or with whom you’d like to stay, please let us know. While we can’t guarantee every request, we’ll do our best to accommodate.
